Maine
Jazz Camp is pleased to announce its thirty-second anniversary sessions!
"You are surrounded by people your own age who are there for
the same reasons as you. Friendships that are cultivated at the camp
continue throughout the year. Things are really quite simple at MJC,
we eat, sleep and play music. Absolutely no one goes away from their
week at camp without some sense of musical accomplishments, including
the faculty. You are personally guaranteed a great week."

Campus Life
Camp is held on the campus of the University of Maine at Farmington.
Once on campus, students are supervised by a staff of dormitory counselors
who look out for the best interests of every Maine Jazz Camp student.
In addition to nearly a full day of music classes, campers have scheduled
recreation and rest periods. There are evening activities including
concerts by staff members. During dorm hours, students can relax with
a jazz video, hang out with friends in the dorm lounge or simply spend
down time in the privacy of their room. Students can also participate
during scheduled times in other activities on campus including tennis,
basketball and running. Additionally, there are student jam sessions
and the opportunity to get to know faculty musicians away from class.
Students at Maine Jazz Camp are on the campus meal plan, which starts
with dinner on Sunday, the first day of camp, and continues with three
meals a day through dinner on Friday. On Saturday morning there is
a continental breakfast in the dorm lounge before dorm check-out.
Please note if a camper stays 2 weeks there is no formal supervision
from Saturday afternoon to Sunday noon of the next session.
